29 October 2026 · 6 min read
ZeDaq.ai and GenLook both let shoppers see clothes on their own photo, but they suit different businesses. GenLook is a Shopify app with an AI assistant for style and fit questions, while ZeDaq.ai is an API and widget that works beyond Shopify and also includes tools for tailors.
ZeDaq.ai publishes this blog, so we've kept to facts from each product's own site. Details were checked on 29 October 2026. Features and plans change, so confirm current information on each product's own page before you decide.
What does GenLook do?
GenLook is an app on the Shopify App Store. It offers photo-based AI virtual try-on, so shoppers see garments on their own picture.
It also includes an AI assistant. The assistant answers questions about size, fit and style, and it can recommend a size from your store's size chart. GenLook labels its sizing feature as beta, which is worth remembering when you test it.
The app carries the Built for Shopify badge, has a free plan, and is available in many languages. Its listing is a Shopify app. It does not say whether it works on other platforms, so non-Shopify stores should ask the team directly.
What does ZeDaq.ai do?
ZeDaq.ai is an API and embeddable widget that adds AI Virtual Try-On and body sizing to product pages. It is also on the Shopify App Store.
Here is how it works for the shopper:
- They open your product page.
- They upload one photo and enter their height.
- Their measurements are matched against your size chart to recommend a size.
- Virtual Try-On renders your actual product on their body in the product carousel.
All of this happens inside your own product page. Shoppers need no ZeDaq.ai account and no sign-in. The storefront widget speaks 10 languages, and billing supports USD, NGN, GBP, EUR and more.
ZeDaq.ai is a technology platform. It does not make, sell or ship clothes.

When is GenLook the better fit?
GenLook makes sense if you are on Shopify and want a conversational layer. Shoppers who like asking questions such as "Will this suit my shape?" may enjoy the AI assistant.
The Built for Shopify badge may also reassure you if you want an app designed to sit comfortably in Shopify. If you only sell through Shopify, and you do not make to measure, a Shopify-focused app can be a tidy choice.
When is ZeDaq.ai the better fit?
ZeDaq.ai suits you if any of these apply:
- You run WooCommerce, Magento, a custom storefront or your own app.
- You want to paste one script tag into a product page template, with no redesign.
- You prefer to integrate directly with the REST API.
- You want shoppers to try on without creating an account.
- You are also a tailor, designer or made-to-measure business.
That last point is the biggest difference. Many tailors and designers run their business across WhatsApp chats, Excel sheets and paper notebooks. Client details, measurements, deposits and due dates end up scattered.
Every ZeDaq.ai subscription includes tools to keep these in one place:
- A client CRM with contact details, delivery address and fit preferences.
- Orders with deposits, and a delivery calendar with automatic reminders.
- Invoicing with your logo and bank details, sent by email or WhatsApp.
- Measurement capture by auto-capture, voice-guided posing or manual entry.
Capture uses a front and a side photo, finds 33 skeletal points, and is calibrated with a sheet of A4 paper. You can also send a measurement link that the client opens on their own phone, so they install nothing. You can even photograph an old paper measurement book page and have it read into a digital profile.
These tools work in the web dashboard and the mobile app, and you can still message clients on WhatsApp. If this is your world, see the tailor tools page.
What should you check before choosing a try-on tool?
Run through this checklist with any provider, including us:
- Platform: Does it work with your storefront today, not just a future plan?
- Size chart: How does it use your chart, and can you control it?
- Shopper friction: Must shoppers sign in, install anything or create an account?
- Languages: Does it cover the languages your customers actually use?
- Currencies: Can you work in the currency you trade in, such as GBP or NGN?
- Testing: Is there a free plan or trial so you can test on real products?
- Photo quality: Try garments with different cuts, colours and fabrics, not just your simplest item.
- Your wider workflow: Do you also take measurements, deposits and orders somewhere else?
Test with a handful of your own products and a few people of different heights and body shapes. That will tell you more than any feature list.
Do I need a tailor app or a general tool as well?
If you take measurements, spreadsheets and chat apps can work at first. Excel and Google Sheets are flexible for lists and totals. WhatsApp Business is free and good for catalogues, labels and quick replies.
Neither is built to hold measurements, deposits and delivery reminders together. HubSpot and Zoho CRM are strong for sales pipelines but would need customising for fittings. Notion and Airtable let you build your own system, but you design and maintain it.
Dedicated tailor apps such as Darzee and Tailo360 typically cover customer measurements, orders and payment tracking. Compare their store listings against your needs.
